Other Public Bodies

An Non Departmental Public Body is defined as a “body which has a role in the processes of national Government, but is not a Government Department or part of one, and which accordingly operates to a greater or lesser extent at arm’s length from Ministers”.  As at 31 March 2007, there were 827 NDPBs in the UK.  A full list of all Public Bodies can be found a report produced by the Civil Service

Guidance on how the Act might be implemented by Public Bodies was published on the 22^nd of May 2007.  The following is a list of some of the more influential Public Bodies within the West Midlands region
